Anciently, a grand archwizard and necromancer became the Overlord when he created the Great Darkness, a storm that continued to expand until it covered the world, enthralling anyone without special immunity. The nine other grand archwizards from across the world banded together in a group they called the Halidar. Despite losing six of their number, they defeated the Overlord and ended the Great Darkness.
Now, 800 years later, powerful forces are at work and a second darkness has burst upon the world. One of the three remaining Halidar has become a new Overlord, one dies from immortal poison, and the third must gather a ragtag band of misfits from across three continents to fulfill an ancient prophecy. The future of the world is at risk if she can’t find and gather them in time.
